Way to set your standards high with some blue collar shite job. Reading posts like this helps me solidify my decision to pursue engineering which I'm glad I did. My company is setting me up with RSU's. Too bad you blue collar folks have no idea what that entails.

Wtf are you talking about Willis?
I don't know any engineers who bring in $500k a year. Not sure what point you're trying to make here.

This is not true for the bar pilots. They can be apprentices for 2-5 years and during that time period they make about $20K a year or less with a 3 week on and 1 week off schedule.

they drive a boat like 4 miles in a river that's a mile wide. Nobody will ever convince me it's that fricking hard.
not quite rape boy, it's a little tougher than that
Actually they don't even drive the boat. They stand on the bridge and tell the captain where the sandbars are. That's it.

Actually no one drives the boat. The captain steers the boat up and down the river.

So who gets the DUI?

Yeah, that's all the do.

Oh yeah, you're right, I forgot about the days spent fishing and duck hunting out of pilot town. That's another thing they do on the job, besides standing on the bridge telling the captain where the sandbars are.

Don't forget about eating meals on the bridge.
Last time I went, my steak was kinda over cooked.
Rough deal...
