Google Gemini said 9.3% people in the US ID as a member of the LGBT community. And that's the number they gave when I asked how many gay people are in the US.

Is that counting all the pastors and dudes on the dl and poliboard homophobes or is that number just the ones who are willing to admit it?

It said 9.3% identified as a member of the LGBT community. Identifying as and being are two separate things so I think it could be close to that number. That's the only number I was given without trying to get more accurate results. I actually thought the percentage of gays were closer to just under 2%, but as I mentioned, that's the answer I got from google Gemini.

As a heterosexual male, as honest as i can be- i have the same reaction Van Pelt had when i see two dudes making out, even in 2026…. Fortunately i dont see it very often, maybe the occasional ‘edgy’ tv show or whatever.. BUT i dont jump to “omg it’s evil behavior !!11!!” or anything .. just like i get kinda grossed out when i see a morbidly obese, tatted-up scantily-clad woman.. i might turn away or suppress an involuntary gag reflex- but i dont see it as signaling the end of society or whatever .. as my grandfather used to say : “Son, it takes all kinds to make the world go ‘round .”
