You are right and it's even worse than you think. Doctors are a scam. The whole thing should be torn down
Would love to know what you do as a career

Because they've never been legit depressed.
Yes, a healthy lifestyle goes a long ways, but does working out really help when I was thinking of cutting my wrists. NOPE.
We cannot have a conversation about this if we are only going throw out the extremes. Are the vast amount of people walking around with "mental health" prescriptions trying to cut their wrist?

Next up in my opinion is the Statin/Cholesterol industry.
These are easily measurable.

You seem triggered now that the scam is finally over. Are you a lobbyist for big pharma or something?
The problem is once people get on them, they don't want to admit it wasn't good. And they want to feel like they made the right decision. It becomes cult like similar to covid.

This is an epidemic in this country and this alone would fix a lot of people's problems, IMO. Sleep and sunlight are two things most people don't get enough of.

I’ve been wondering how big of an impact these drugs and the prevalence of them have had on every facet of our society over the past 30 years.

Yeah no shite. There’s no gay gene either. If you’re depressed and/or a dicksucker it’s because your parents failed you.

There's no doubt that Americans are overmedicated. There are many physicians that are little more than drug dealers. There's too much incentive to diagnose everyone with "something."
Kid has trouble paying attention in class? ADHD. Kid sad? Depressed.
FFS: Humans never evolved to sit in a building isolated from nature. Then, go home and stare at screens and eat junk food. It's no wonder they have short attention spans and they're depressed. They're full of frustration and no way to express it in a natural manner without parents and teachers thinking there's something wrong with them.
Then, these responsible adults slap labels on them and sit them in front of a bunch of greedy arse drug dealers looking to get the kid in and out as quickly as possible so they can see another "patient."
The system is all messed up. Let kids be kids. Let them play. Encourage them to get outside and ride a bike. Build a fort. Climb some trees. Get some scrapes. They'll be better for it.

It's caused by an imbalance in faith and prayer

If serotonin was the only chemical in the brain, sure.

He's allegedly a doctor, which I'm not sure I even believe.
But if we are to believe that he's proud to be a pill farm one

Around 15 years ago out of no where I developed panic disorder. I would go from chilling out on my couch, calm as a hindu cow, to my heart racing, sweating, dizzy and feeling like I was about to die for no reason at all. I was physically in great shape, worked out 5 times per week, had a good social life and this disorder just about ruined my life. I was having these attacks daily and with the exception of going to work I pretty much didnt leave the house for 2 months.
I finally went to the doctor . They did all sorts of tests to rule out other physical issues and then went ahead and diagnosed panic disorder. I was put on Paxil and immediately the panic attacks stopped. I took it for year and then stopped with no ill effects and only once every few years do I experience anything close to the kind of attacks I've had years ago. Doctors still dont know exactly what causes them or why SSRI work but it absolutely did in my case. Just my 2 cents.

It's intensely funny that you think I made that argument when I was actually critiquing it. It's cool that you are that dishonest. Not surprising you would agree with old gags here.
