Yes. As in a large amount in a very quick time

If you're proned to getting something, it could be the catalyst or trigger

Oh my god.

It is truly sad that people are so ignorant about this stuff. Stop listening to your preacher and 4th grade teacher's opinion on marijuana. They have no clue what they're talking about.

it is mind boggling for sure

However, the researchers cannot exclude a reverse cause-and-effect relationship, meaning that cannabis use could contribute to the risk of schizophrenia.

This is irresponsible journalism.

Scientists cannot disprove that apples contribute to the risk of schizophrenia either. You can't prove a negative.

this thread should be fun...

A link to a non-scientific journal with a claim not backed up by journal text probably isn't going to lead to very fruitful discussion.

here is an article worth discussing

here's another

It has to be a troll. What's next, marijuana will make your woman lust after the black man? They used to say that, too.

Anyone who doesn't agree that alcohol was their first experience with drug use in LA is lying or was a lonely child.

Those "scientists" are funded by pharmaceutical companies. The writing is on the wall boys, and the drug companies know it.

It's funny. If weed is so bad for you then how come every negative article ever posted is such obvious bullshite? You really have to have your fingers in your ears if you still buy into the 80's propaganda.

Furthermore, alcohol is FAR more likely to be the catalyst of making poor decisions, of which doing hard drugs is included.

Taking a couple hits of good weed in the evening to wind down isn't any more harmful than having a glass of wine or a beer. So many people have been brainwashed by the government in thinking marijuana is evil and a "gate way" drug while believing alcohol is perfectly ok.

I don't smoke by the way, I just know when something is BS.

Well, not exactly. Check the two articles I linked above. More or less, there are
1) brains susceptible to psychotic disorders that get exposed that develop symptoms
2) developing brains (teenagers, namely, when talking about cannabis use) where it does seem to cause some long-term effects. These are again thought to be relatively susceptible people.

More or less, if you have a close relative with a psychotic disorder, I would actually recommend avoiding cannabis for real medical/psych reasons.

Everyone else I pretty much say the biggest harms are getting caught and smoking it. There's not a whole lot of medical reasons for the general public to not consume it, excluding the harm of the smoke itself.

Breaking news:
People with mental disorders more likely to use substances to lessen the effects of said mental disorder. Shocking!

This is backwards. It induces psychosis in certain people.

Saw a guy essentially go manic for a week-10d kicked off by MJ. It wasn't his first psych hospital stay. He wasn't on meds. He functions on a daily basis without meds. Basically when he smokes though, it just knocks him too loopy to function for extended periods.

ETA- I'm not suggesting people don't self medicate. In the case of marijauana use and psychotic disorders, it does seem to "uncover" psychosis in the certain susceptible/affected brain. See above links for biogical plausibility and observations.

Well, theyre not actually ignoring you. The personality that reads your warnings, and agrees that pot is bad, is outvoted by the other personalities that didn't bother to read your post

Try posting it multiple times in the same thread. Then all their personalities might come across it, and take heed
