They'll just inflate failing grades.
Same thing they've done for years.

The first report cards of the school year are arriving with many more Fs than usual in a dismal sign of the struggles students are experiencing with distance learning.

School districts from coast to coast have reported the number of students failing classes has risen by as many as two or three times — with English language learners and disabled and disadvantaged students suffering the most.

Well. Duh.

Sacrificing childrens' futures in the name of their elders is totally a sign of a well-functioning advanced society.
Sums up the whole situation. It's pathetic.

First let me say kids need to be in school as much as possible . However , in my district the kids who do well ordinarily , do well in virtual and the kids who don’t do much while in school , don’t do much at home

Right.

The kids that have the structure and support still do well in virtual.

The kids that lack the structure and support struggle in school and at home.

The problem is those kids kinda in the middle, that even though they don't have much structure and support at home, still do ok in school because it provides some structure and support.

With no school, they have no structure and support and fall behind.

This is why the failure rates are increasing so dramatically.

Something to ponder-

If Schools believe that kids learn just as well by staying home and looking at a computer screen, why don't we fire all teachers?

All you need is one 1st grade teacher for the entire country. That person can be recorded and shown to every student in the country.

Do the same for all grades and subjects.

Budget issue solved!

What a bunch of dumbasses our country as become.
