You obviously don't have young kids. Some of the stuff on Nick Jr and Disney Jr is very educational.
This! Blaze and the Monster Machines, Wallykazam, Team Umizoomi. They are all highly educational.

They were brilliant. I didn't realize I was being taught. Absolutely brilliant.
Thank you. The level of teaching was far above children's educational levels at that age but they found a fantastic way of making kids understand it.

Then how are you so ignorant on the subject you have chosen to rant about?

As compared to my 2 year old watching an episode of Blaze that teaches him about velocity and trajectory.
Your stance here is frankly uninformed.

My mom was always playing those old schoolhouse rock songs.
Know 'em all by heart even though they were a little before my time.

How is it that in the 70's and 80's kids had cartoons which taught them grammar, math, civics, mathematics history etc and it's been replaced with what?
I went to public schools. Schoolhouse Rock pretty much was my education.

Giant orange lego tossed. Back to non velocity cartoons. Maybe my kid just isn't smart.

No offense meant and please don't take this thread seriously. I actually appreciate the recommendations you guys gave. Little man is locked in on a new show now.

Just pop on Nick Jr every night and drink with the spouse every time the tyke learns something.

Mr. Fred Rogers died. It went downhill since.

Yeah, well, I've been keeping my 13 month-old granddaughters a fair amount, and I'm about to nuke Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
