School zone speed limits for high schools are dumb

Why does there need to be a school zone speed limit for high schools? These people are 14 to 18 and are quite capable of knowing when to cross the street. If they are retarded enough to cross the street while there is traffic than they deserve to get hit. I understand for elementary school but high schools are ridiculous. /rantover/

Please stop driving immediately!

Many high schools have special needs programs.
Are you saying you hate special needs kids?

Um, the same reason speed limits are lower anywhere that there is a lot of traffic and people.

Yeah! We should speed up! Amirite?

Just got a ticket in in school zone? Enjoy the chewing out from the judge.

Kids don't pay attention. Leave earlier, so you don't have to worry about the slow down.

Usually slowing down when hundreds of drivers with very little experience are on the road in a concentrated area at the same time is a good idea.

Most of the kids walk/drive to high school here in Katy, so they are absolutely necessary. Neighborhood schools bro. Sorry for your shitty school system.

Maybe put some street lights or stop signs but making people go 20 mph is a waste of time for high schools.. As long as kids are glued to their phone while crossing the street, they'll be fine

Because people cannot drive and don't pay attention while driving. If you don't believe that, then the next time you see a crash get out with the officers and help him direct traffic.

All school zones are fascist. The government has no right to tell me what speed to travel.
And 99% of high schoolers are assholes anyway.

I teach special ed kids. The drop off for them is in a cross walk area. Sometimes, they get out of the car and walk right into school. Other times, they run across the street into the playground. I have to stand out in the crosswalk each morning to get them. You are telling me that at 20+mph you can anticipate the actions of a special needs kid?
YOU ARE RETARDED!
