I didn’t want to read 7 pages so this has probably already been brought up, but when I was in catholic school they had a rule about no facial hair. Most of the black guys got out of it because they claimed they would get ingrown hairs. Sometimes a policy affects one group more than others.
Eh...I think that’s a cop out on their part. If you’re black and you grow a beard, you still have to care for it and keep it trimmed. It’s as much work as being clean-shaven and using creams to avoid razor bumps.
I don’t think this is the same thing. For the majority of black girls, properly maintained natural hair is a pretty heavy burden compared to doing a protective style with purchased hair, especially if the girl is an athlete.

There are guys who, if they wanted to keep their face completely shaved, they would have to shave twice a day.
When I was at Rummel, they had guys that would come in clean shaven, by the time 6th period rolled around, they were getting harassed for 5 o'clock shadows...

I cant speak for the other ones but are you telling me that the Archdiocese of New Orleans and Baton Rouge have many catholic schools converting to non religious charter schools?
Which schools?

Yes. If a private company (or school for this matter) has a set of standards; a certain group of people cant get upset just because it effects them and not someone else. It’s like guys protesting that they should be allowed to have facial hair at a job that says you cant. “It’s unfair to the men!!”
It’s chicken shite imo.
There are certain jobs where you are expected to present yourself a certain way, but the average job has a business casual dress code and as long as men keep their facial hair clean cut or allow it to get to the point it looks sloppy.
A lot of plant workers have to keep a shaved face, it's a safety requirement, but as an adult, I know when I have to present myself a certain way.
I use to work at an engineering firm that had an extremely lax dress code. Unless someone had to go out to meet with a client or something, it was common for people to come into work with blue jeans, and a shirt.
Most people worked 4 10s, but you had the option to work 4 9s and 1 4. Sometimes I would go in on Fridays and there was this guy who worked 4 9s and a 4.. Dude would come into work every friday (when it was hot) in a muscle shirt..
But it seems like these schools would be better off not wasting their time on worrying about little things and put more focus on other areas.

They can simply choose to pay for another private school if they do not agree with the policy.
It’s a PRIVATE school. I don’t get the confusion. To me, it’s very clear.
Hats off to an administrator with some balls to piss on PC.

I don't know about the other 3, but with regards to New Orleans...
I have friends and family with kids at 5 different Archdiocese of New Orleans schools and can assure you that none of those Catholic schools are converting to non-religious schools

My kids go to a private school in Madisonville. Weaves aren't allowed there either. Oh wait, I just realized....never mind.

In a world where everybody dresses like a slob, don’t be surprised that some people still respect themselves

This is pretty damn stupid IMO. I don’t see anything wrong with this girls hair.
