Public and private parts of the economy should be held to the same standard. Many of those begging for schools to remain closed were probably also begging for Starbucks to open to get their soy milk latte fix.

Private businesses have found a way to reopen, but public sector has realized they can play the safety card and gift themselves unlimited vacation.

Let me know about tomorrow.

This world is full of a bunch of betas.
Our parents would walk to school in the snow…weren’t worried about stepping in a slick spot.

You got 100’s of buildings and thousands of workers coming in tomorrow? Building with no heat, water, busted pipes, buses on road at 5 am, kids waiting on bus in 10 degree wind chill at 5:30 and ice patches still around? Schools have more people coming to them than any business around - with buildings that might have issues and you just need that one day on Friday? LOL

You really want kids walking to buses in the dark with icy sidewalks? Then board the buses and have them go on icy bridges throughout the city? The issue isn’t going home the issue is getting kids to school. Now if they didn’t have to bus the kids they would have school tomorrow. They don’t want to be sued and you know one person gets hurt that’s a lawsuit. Blame Gordon and all the other ambiance chasers

My stepdaughter just got the call a few minutes ago that Jefferson Parish Public Schools are closed tomorrow and will open on Monday.

You guys sound like teachers.

Teachers have had off 3 of the last 5 weeks. I’d be willing to bet they don’t even know all of their students’ names.

My mom was and sister is - you had a choice and chose something else - you got 1,000’s of employees coming in to 100’s of buildings with issues of heat, water pressure and busted pipes, catching public transportation at 5:30 am in 10 degree wind chill, with ice patches still on ground with some roads still closed? And Gordon on speed dial ready to sue your arse for 1 day on Friday? And DOT told you to not have school and you did? -LSU NIL Stacked - LOL

Can anyone provide a single case of a school successfully being sued for having kids go to school?

EBR, it was also a threat and they still didn't get their way as.

Also I wasn't even aware EBR had their own teachers union that isn't one of the three statewide ones.

You do realize emergency management and DOT advise Superintendents and Schools Boards as to what they should do? They also have board attorney who advises.
