So, say you killed or crippled a child because of your "brain fart". where would we be now?

You didn't just innocently pass it. you knew exactly what you were doing...…

frick. you.

After reading an article just now about a woman hitting and killing 3 children (all siblings) in Indiana on Tuesday because she didn't stop for a school bus, I am completely on board with this post. Specifically the two words at the end.

Sounds like you work in an ER or in some sort of psych facility if you know what a B52 is. Show up in your scrubs and explain what happened and ask for forgiveness. Pay the fine and tell them you have learned from your mistake and see if they will wave the 30 day suspension or at least knock it down to 10 days or something. Most law enforcement individuals have respect for those in the healthcare industry, especially nurses so play that card if you can.

BALDWYN • A nine-year-old Baldwyn Elementary student died on Wednesday after sustaining injuries while crossing the road to board a school bus.

Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a call on Highway 370 in the Baldwyn/Pratts community at 6:36 a.m. Wednesday. The child was transported by ambulance to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo and was later airlifted to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis around 10 a.m.

Hunter Newman, 22, of Marietta was heading westbound driving a white Toyota pickup and struck the child as he crossed the road toward the school bus.

After an investigation of the crash by Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Mississippi Highway Patrol Accident Reconstruction Team, Newman was formally charged with aggravated assault in Lee County.

Christ. Between this and the 3 siblings killed in Indiana on Tuesday, I can't imagine how the parents involved can cope. Absolutely tragic.

The OP clearly pulled a POS maneuver. Definitely not a brain fart. But mistakes happen. A relative of mine passed a bus that had stopped somewhere it usually doesn’t (presumably a kid missed his/her stop). It was around a bend and downhill so she went right by before she noticed the arm was out.

In any event, you just pay the fine, move on and be grateful no one was hurt. In her case, she showed up to court and the solicitor offered $100 off the fine to everyone who would just leave without a hearing.
