Maybe it was scenic at one time. Should OLOL have been renamed Our Lady of the Ditch when they moved 40 years ago?

well, u should visit the daily lunch thread - Skillet and Nurse covers most of the Scenic hwy views and history - however, Nurse may well be in the same situation as Super S - haven't been around lately.

They need to fix the roads along Scenic, Choctaw, Mohican, as well as Plank.

not very scenic

You need to put it in proper context. Scenic Highway has that name because that 4-lane highway was built to provide improved travel access over the older, lower-speed, winding rural 2-lane route near there (which still exists, but is now called "Old Scenic Highway"...Old Scenic Highway has much more scenery than the new one, so its name makes a little more sense).

But it's kind of like how the faster, 4-lane New Hammond Highway (now Florida Boulevard) replaced the 2-lane Old Hammond Highway or New Highland Road (now Burbank) replaced the slower, narrow Highland Road...New Highland Road, despite its name, was actually located on pretty LOW land along Bayou Fountain's flood zones...it even does flood over at times at its intersection near Gourrier.

All in the name of progress.

Well it goes up to St. Francisville which is scenic. You finally get some hills.

it doesn't get scenic until you enter East Feliciana Parish. Nothing to see in EBR.
