Overton Park is a large park here, the Zoo resides there.

Anyway there are some very deep woods in the middle of the park and I ate some mushrooms in the park one night and went into the woods.

Homeless people frick each other and generally act demonic overnight there. Never again.

They truly sound demonic.

I dont encounter them while in the woods in my area that much, but I have a half mile walk to my deer blind in West Texas that I do in the dark about 6 times a year that unsettles me a bit when I hear them.

When I did my Hunter Safety course my instructor said he thought loading your gun when you were headed to your spot was a big no no but that dude can SMD after hearing hogs in the dark for the last 20 years.

When I was around 8 years old some friends and I were deep in the woods playing war. We saw a guy walking through there in a full camo combat uniform with some type of radio he was talking on. We just froze and watched him get out of sight and then hauled arse back to my house. To this day I’m not sure what the hell that was all about.

Came across a Minion piñata (the little yellow guys) hanging from a branch. Next to it was a dead stinking squirrel impaled on a stake.

Not the best story but I was camping with 3 friends on Lake Ouachita one summer for my birthday. We're all sitting around the campfire getting drunk on whiskey and decide about 1am that we should go for a hike. The two smarter/sober guys decided to stay back so our two dumb asses set off alone.

He has one of those head lamp things and I have the light from my iPhone. We get about a half mile from the campsite and he stops and motios to something in front of us. Theres a pair of yellow/green eyes watching us from a distance. We slowly backed away down the trail until we got close enough to the campsite to see the fire.

That thing tracked us the whole way back

I’ve told the story on here once before, but I was checking some right of ways for work a few years back. I know the area well and I was at least 5-7 miles from the nearest road. I stopped the four wheeler to piss and shut it off. About thirty seconds into my piss, from behind some bushes, I hear a woman’s voice say in a polite way “hello”. I could see that she was a young girl of about 18-20 years old. She was dirty, but perfectly well spoken. I asked if she was okay and she said “yes” so I got the frick out of there.

To this day, I can’t make sense of this….so many unanswered questions. It is getting to be time to ride right of ways again and I get nervous just thinking about it.

right of ways for work
This right here. I have been on ROWs in West Texas, no cell service, miles from the highway...see and hear stuff that may or may not be there. I had a compressor station/shutdown gas plant in Coyanosa TX that I was told was haunted. Story was guy died there back in the 60s and his gohst was still there, even had a hard hat that was labled Ghost in the building .The station operators had dogs that would follow them everywhere except that compressor building. No shite..dogs follow you around everywhere and when you got to the building they noped out. Sit right outside but not in.

When I was around 11 I was at a campout with 5 other kids about my age. One kid lived on a lot of land which was close to a hunting club. Very rural area, was often to hear shots fired as it was a start of deer season. well that night around 3am, we heard some shots because less than a mile away a man was waiting on a neighbor he had been obsessing over to come home. She came home with another person and he shot an killed both of them.

He then ran into the same woods we were in and was in there for hours. Our fire had gone out earlier which in turn was probably a good thing. Had it not, we could have been woken up to a guy trying to kill everyone. We were instead woken up by police and the kids parents freaking out about the situation

I would bet anything what you heard was a fox. It is the scariest thing the first time you hear it and you don’t know what it is

Congrats on the coyote sighting.

Being a Biologist by training, I've spent ALOT of time in the woods. The scariest thing that ever happened to me was a buddy and I were climbing the the Obed river gorge in Tennessee. On that trip, I almost fell off a 50' cliff and my dog was bitten by a copperhead. I had to carry him out about 3 miles.

Mid 70's... Harrell's Ferry area was very rural and lots of deep woods. Me and 4 friends got lost and had probably been walking in circles with our BB guns for quite a while trying to find a way out, or at least something that looked familiar. We crossed a stream tightroping on a downed tree. When we got to the other side and looked around the whole area was full of dead horses with bullet holes.. Some mostly bones, some bloated about to pop.. Some newly killed. I lost my shite and 2 of them had to almost slap me to get me to move. I was frozen. I was already freaked out before we found them and now I was terrified. It was getting dark and it was beyond scary for a bunch of 10 year olds. I finally followed them and we all ran and ran until we could not breathe and finally found our way out a long way from where we started. Never found our way there again in all the years we stayed in those woods. Almost 50 years later they still tease me about freaking out to the point of being catatonic.
