Anything involving the word "literally" when the person doesn't literally mean what they're saying.
"It literally scared me to death". frick you, apparently not.
Overuse of "literally" is figuratively causing my head to explode.

Starting answers/sentences with "So..." is out of control in the national dialect. I've even fallen victim to it. Trying to break the habit.
Yes. I did a topic search on here once, for "so," and it was hilarious how many post titles started with the word.
The over use of "right?" is equally annoying. It seems prevalent in academia and other settings where people are trying to sound smart and profound.

Ending sentences on the up-beat, like it's a question, is also part of the same style.
Just listen to NPR. They do this all day. Corporate functions are also rife with this.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
That is an example, not a definition and it’s so overused it kills me.
This is actual definition.
the condition of being insane; a derangement of the mind.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I hate that damn word ANY time it’s used. 99.9% of the time it’s used incorrectly or unnecessarily. I hear that damn word 100 times per day, even from little kids.

I have tried to have this discussion with many people but no one cares.
There is no correct way to use the word literally. I don’t know how I became a word.
Possible real usage.
“The taxi was late. I literally waited 15 minutes for it to show up.
Popular convention.
“I literally bend over backwards trying to make you happy.”
That is the exact opposite of what literally means damn you Kardashians.
This is my personal opportunity for a Nobel.

The use of the word "robust". Just don't.

For whoever asked about why the word "irregardless" would trigger someone...
Though technically a word (it is in most dictionaries now), it is a useless fricking word. It has the exact same definition as the word "regardless". Also, the only people I ever hear use that word are dumbasses trying to sound smart.

I know, rigggght? It's so used in the middle of a series of points. It was fine every now and then, for the speaker to sort of break and make sure people were listening, but it is now the equivalent of a breath or short pause.
