Good thought Mr. Jim Rockford. In a long trial an on-the- come could be overly concerned about her next step.
This is what hiring people deal with and they’re never happy. Stay at one job too long and you’re too complacent. Have too many jobs and you have no direction.
I think people who are being hired should ask the hiring people how long they’ve been in their jobs

Not a sexy thread as nothing happened. Person I grew up with (Joe Percoco) Could be the person to keep Mario Cuomo from running for president in 2020. A recent article came out saying he hired the highest paid firm New York (up to $1k per hour) and people were wondering how can he afford that. Even if he wins he is crushed financially.

You are full of shite if you think $1,000/hr gets you one of the highest paid lawyers in NYC.

IYAM it's at least unethical. Our lawyer was considering reporting her to the bar association. IDK whatever happened.

It's apples and oranges. If you're fighting the uphill civil battle against Goliath, then of course you want a scrappy David swinging for the fences on your behalf.

On the other hand, if your legal woes are already out in the open, and all that's left over is to litigate your guilt or innocence, then I'd take the scrappy, resourceful guy who just might pull a rabbit out of the hat. The white-shoe club will take you just as far--albeit at a higher hourly rate--but all they'll do is get you into the same courthouse. At day's end, your case is going to be won or lost based on legwork, gumshoe detective reports, basically all the things that go into proving the existence of reasonable doubt.

So, I'd take the white-shoe making one $15,000 call that'll make the whole thing disappear, but I'd pay the up-and-comer every cent of a $15K retainer to try and win that case on every conceivable motion available.

When it comes to WC cases, you better look for a former DOJ attorney to represent you.

Mario Cuomo has been dead for over three year. I'm pretty sure he ain't running for shite in 2020.

1. Attorneys can take cases pro-bono (ie for free) if they want to. In fact, some states require attorneys to log so many hours of pro bono work every year.

2. Attorneys can advance the costs of litigation to the client if the client can’t pay.

3. A lot of cases can result in the award of attorney fees to the winning side. The firm may be taking the case on contingency knowing that if they’re successful in this criminal defense case and in the civil suit, they’ll be entitled to a big mess of attorney fees.
