He has media dedicated to hyping his companies and have a proven track record of never publishing a negative article on him. One such source is in the OP. They are hype machines set up to prompte his product disguised as impartial media. He is a showman, visionary, dreamer, and incredible motivator. He is also self destructive, confrontational, self absorbed, and bad for what TSLA needs now. He is distracting the public from how bad of financial shape TSLA is in. The stock price isn't dropping due to his behavior, it's because the company is collapsing. SpaceX is private and doesn't have to open the books, so their financial well being is more of a mystery.
Such a spot on post. Sorry I only have but one upvote to give.

Skepticism like what you do bury people's ideas that could work.
When the ideas violate fundamental natural laws that govern our reality, they should be buried unless they are used to produce works of fiction for entertainment purposes. Fontus, Solar Roadways, WaterSeer, HyperLoop....all bullshite ideas that have wasted millions of private and public dollars.

Has anybody ever came up with an idea that won't work but a piece of it influenced another great idea?

I don’t get the hate, people want him to fail so bad.
It's not him I want to fail so much as I do the stupid investors who propped the value of Tesla to about twice that of GM. The failure there on the investors is so obvious its easy money for those of us that know what they're doing.
I bet these same stupid people are also buying the pot stocks.

There is no Tesla, SpaceX, or Elon Musk subsidy.
It is/was an open market bid anyone is open to.
So are you saying you would be equally pissed towards ANYONE who stepped up, but couldn’t be bothered to find out who supported/passes the blanket bill in the first place?

That's exactly what this is. It couldn't ever be a long haul truck. Advertising it as such is just for the media hype, and stupid people believe it. Once you step back into reality, you understand it won't work (even with their battery technology). Even the charging times he's proposing sound like a pipe dream. And don't forget they plan on putting zero emissions power generation plants at every charging station

Do you know anything about OTR trucking rules for drivers? Why on Earth would you say it can't handle the max driver hours which then subsequently are coordinated with charging stations??

I think TSLA is in better position for OTR trucking than selling a mass market 'economy' car.
Makes more sense when they can greatly reduce operations cost in a market that operations cost is their entire business.

They can only go 300 or 500 miles on a single charge

Unless they are team drivers they aren't going farther than that anyway.

Why don't you enlighten all of us with a sentence or two about why the loop is bad science, rather than stomp your feet and call people names.

then you simply set it up so that all trucks and deliveries are done in non-peak hours.

It's a long ways away, but once that happens it immediately revolutionizes all existing travel grids.
Maybe you are unawares but trucks have been traveling at night for a minute.

I edited my above post. I'm betting that they are planning on using them as final delivery trucks only. UPS, USPS, garbage trucks, busses, from hub to final destination, etc.
You do realize that more than 75% of all truck traffic fits in the range of the Tesla’s ER version.
You are probably right but one step removed: the bulk of the traffic will be from going from a centralized hub to a more local staging area.

Most any physicist today will tell you that while our physical laws are not wrong as we know them, they are likely incomplete. There are currently several observed paradox in physics that seem to violate fundamental laws, one being Hawking radiation emitted during the evaporation of black holes not matching the known mass of the black hole.
