The Salt Bayou Lounge was a trip. The original chicken drop I think. Damn Katrina. Took the only good thing about Slidell away.

Don't know how this registers on the "nice" scale, but Slidell is the only city in Louisiana with three interstate systems passing through it.

As far as residences go there are pockets of nice areas to raise a family. As far as retail there is a lot to be desired.
There is access to the Tammany Trace which one can take to go west of Slidell.
Camp Salmen is a nice park.

I visit Slidell a lot and it’s pretty surprising how few black people live there

For the longest time it was the only place in the US where three interstates converged at a single interchange. Not sure if this is still the case. Back in the 80s/90s it was rumored that Johnny Carson bought up land around there.

I've lived in South Louisiana 40 of my 41 years and have never been to Slidell other than driving through it on I-10

East St. Louis may have a case with I-55, I-64, and I-70.

It’s not chalmette
Ok, ok, it’s basically North Chalmette, but at least it isn’t riddled with refineries

Kingspoint subdivision off of Voters road is predominantly black. That’s about 3000 people in that sub.

Hey
I figured most people would see the 1978 in my user name and just make the assumption. Mr Perfect calls me a boomer all of the time
