being an outsider, some of the coolest people I have ever meet through my time in the military were from LA...one of my best friends is from Houma...I always got along with guys from LA while in the Navy....no matter their color...its a very neat subculture and I for one appreciate it...hence why I hang out on an LSU message board...which I was turned onto by some of these buddies I mentioned....
