Saudi Arabia executed and crucified a Myanmar man in the holy city of Mecca on Wednesday in a rare form of punishment reserved for the most egregious crimes.
Elias Abulkalaam Jamaleddeen was accused of breaking into the home of a woman from Myanmar, firing a weapon in it then repeatedly stabbing her, which led to her death, the official Saudi Press Agency reported, citing an Interior Ministry statement. He was also accused of stealing weapons and trying to kill another man whose home he broke into, as well as attempting to rape a woman.
The ruling was supported by the country’s supreme court and endorsed by the king.
Crucifixions in Saudi Arabia entail hanging a body in public after an execution, and are unusual. A Yemeni man was crucified in 2010 for raping and killing a girl and shooting dead her father.

Crucifixion is a horrible way to die. I am all for killing murderers and rapists but the human race can do it much more humanely and efficiently.

Do they even have the same due process over there?
I doubt it.
Maybe he confessed or something. Who knows. I’d have no problem with executing a known murderer though.

It has nothing to do with Jesus.

Mecca is the holiest site for islam. It's considered so holy to muslims that infidels aren't allowed to go there.

Yeah, so weird one would ever associate a cross with Jesus Christ. First I've heard of it, at least.

The famous black box people pray to. There's a documentary somewhere showing the inside of it.

Yes, does the press refer to it as "Holy Vatican City" for every reference?

Can not believe I am the first to post "religion of peace."

What does that have to do with media references?

Jesus and Christianity don't own the cross or crucifixion. Both were around long before and long after Jesus.
They've been doing this to people in that region for thousands of years. It is in no way meant to be a slight at Christianity and insinuating it is sounds very insecure and ignorant.

That's horrible. Seems inefficient. Whomever came up with that whole thing could have at least put some birdseed around.

Apparently, you've also never heard of cultural appropriation.
