I have several friends/family members who live in both Austin and San Antonio, and they claim they are both awesome cities to live in. I’ve always heard great things about both cities and that they are two of the best places Texas has to offer.

So if you were to decide between the two, which one would you ultimately choose to move to? San Antonio peeps, what makes your city the best in Texas? Austinites, same question.

Austin is Portland-lite. Would not recommend.. unless that's your thing I guess.

San Antonio. It has a river....kind of. But, according to Sir Charles, it has a whole bunch of fat women.

I'd rather live right in between them in San Marcos or New Braunfels assuming you didn't have to drive to an office in either every day.

Austin looks ugly. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about...

Austin has a much better food and music scene, IMO. It also has a much younger population, and better looking women, from my experience - due to the University of Texas. It's a bit on the liberal side, so I would recommend living slightly north in either Round Rock or Georgetown.

San Antonio has a busier feel to it, but is closer to the coast and has multiple professional sports teams.

Both have decent airports with regional connections and direct flights to major cities.

out in Helotes and Stone Oak be some fine soccer moms.

don't judge a town for its women by Spurs attendance.

but Boerne, Georgetown, and New Braunfels are the better options.

Austin is the most overrated city in the country by a pretty large margin. San Antonio is rated pretty accurately, which is pretty bad.

San Marcos is pretty awesome

That's silly. It's got multiple lakes and rivers, rolling hills, and the University of Texas, which has a great looking campus. Austin is a beautiful city.
