I was just graduated and with an EPA for sandy. The guys I went to PC with compared it to the 93(94?) ice storm. Tyndall AFB Pine's and Mexico beach were an incredible site to see.

It has nothing to do with Katrina. It's the fact New Orleans is probably the most vulnerable area on the Gulf Coast with a very high population. It's literally a soup bowl. The last place you want any storm hitting is NO. Katrina would've wiped NO off the map literally if it didn't shift and it nearly did even on a shift. Someone has to take the shite burger there's nothing you can do about it. You want minimum impacts as best you can.

Put it shortly: a direct hit on NO is going to be worse damage wise than a direct hit on Miss. These storms are going to be miserable for whoever it hits and it sucks you have to lose part of your life with these storms. NO can't even take an afternoon shower without flooding.

Don’t apologize. It’s been said several times on here that NOLA (proper) got screwed by man made failures. MS coast, Slidell, NO East, St Benard and Plaquemines took it up the arse from Katrina. No one should have to endure this BS but someone will.

You obviously have no idea what has been done as far as Hurricane/ storm surge flood protection for Orleans and the surrounding Parishes

Honestly, I’m more comfortable with our hurricane/storm surge protection than I am with our Summer flash flood protection.

Yes but what if this is Levi’s outlet and he just trolls the shite out of us? Could be with a “good” account or hell, could be Peej

I am not the first to suggest the latter

I wouldn't trust them personally. Been a lot of failed leadership before and after Katrina when it came to maintaining those systems there. Better than before undoubtedly.

Even so, have you been paying attention to the rainfall totals? If that thing shifted west and it came close to those totals NO is in major trouble. Don't care what your levees look like. Storm surge is only part of the problem.

On the bright side this far out those totals probably aren't accurate but they have been consistent at dropping boatloads on the models. That's what makes it concerning. We sure as hell don't need another storm coming in and dumping on someone like NO when resources are already a problem due to Laura devastating SWLA. That's just going to make it an even bigger clusterfrick over there on people already suffering.

My concerns are spread out all over. I look for info on 1)Nola impacts due to my sister 2)BSL impacts due to my best friend having a place on the jourdan river 3) my folks in meridian Ms supporting myself and sister and 4) my involvement due to work.

Seems like ole Sally in going to impact all of parts.

How confidant are y'all in the HWRF? Is that the worst case scenario currently?
