Recon mission #2 on the way...

One bad thing about this image is that it shows that the mid to upper level winds are very light ahead of Sally.

It takes more than just that for strengthening, but shear will not be a negative factor for the next day or two.

A few pages back it was posted that Latoya called mandatory Evacuation for Nola outside of the levee system. How much of Nola does that involve?

... it really doesn't need to shift west to a high population city like New Orleans

My sister lives in Nola so I don't say this lightly, but damn son. Nola got every dollar they could to fix that bowl of a city during/after Katrina. The MS coast took care of itself. I don't mean to derail the tread or anything but that kind of statement drives me nuts. Everyone else is worried/struggling just as hard as Nola without the money to fix it. Just a shitty thing to say.

Forgive me everyone. Carry on. I mean no hard feelings and I understand that I'm on a Louisiana message board.

So good news, HWRF is back to stronger earlier this run.

HMON comes west too, going AL/MS line this time.

Are you saying that the Mississippi gulf coast didn't receive any federal money after Katrina?

Not at all. Just overly sensitive to the La narrative that Katrina only affected La. it gets old during these TD hurricane threads. Again, I understand where I am posting and do not wish to derail the info.

Midnight ain't a bad time for a quick derail.

Yeah most of this board will be focused on NOLA but we also discussed earlier how hammered the Mississippi Coast was in Katrina. Nobody here forgets that. The worry tonight is a big city with not the time to evacuate if it proves necessary (it most likely won't be).

Federal government screwed NOLA, mother nature screwed the landmass.

I just got back from LC and Laura, missed my sons first day of kindergarten. I spent 13 days in orange for Harvey and 22 days in Panama City for Michael. I only say that to say I'm not a blowhard.

When I say I don't mean to intrude I mean it. I follow these threads for information because it helps me personally. I got carried away and hit submit when I shouldn't. I didn't mean to shite in the bowl but I did. My apologies.

I’m confused? How is a more West run putting it at the Al/MS line?

With 8.85" (and counting) today has been Key West's wettest day since Hurricane Katrina dropped 9.66" on 8/26/2005 and their 6th wettest day of all-time

And records date back to 1871!

For the model, which has been wanting a 30-A vacation all day. Big west shift from earlier on that one while still being our most east model.

My sister lives in Nola proper. The information I receive here goes along ways to helping me convey to them when to leave/stay. Thank you all.

Hey bud, I was on site for all of the above. Going back to Sandy in NY, I can’t say I’ve seen destruction like I just witnessed with Laura in the Lake Charles area. Unbelievable.
