Sales baws are just different. The good ones just go hard 24/7.

Had a long layover at Chicago Midway on Friday. A young guy (30ish) was doing Zoom meetings at the gate for like an hour. It took a while, but I learned that he (1) lives in Iowa, (2) works for a distillery, (3) had just gotten back from Greenbriar in WV where he was hawking his wares. Dude interviewed 2 job applicants and then had a meeting with some big shot about his numbers, and then with a customer whose business he is clearly trying to score. He was sweating his suit down. Heard him say that he was surprised that none of the airline clubs were open so he had to do the meetings in the airport. He talked his arse off. When he was done, he looked like he was gonna collapse.
Not gonna lie, I almost walked up to him and asked him for a job. But kudos to this guy. I bet he has a hot wife.

Money/closing can be as addictive to some people as heroine. Those individual make killer salesmen, yet spend their lives never really fulfilled.

it’s deadly. You always chase the high- it is absolutely like drugs.
But to the OPs point- when you’re good at it and you go hard, you can do some amazing stuff.
I was in a meeting last week- new client, they put us in a room with no AC and said they do it deliberately to gauge how suppliers react. That kinda crap turns me on.
