I'm retired now, but during my working years in downtown Dallas, I would usually get to the office before 7:00 am to telephone conference with my counterpart in the Middle East as he was finishing his workday. I would usually stay in the office until after 6:00 or 6:30 pm. (FWIW, my commute was about 45 minutes each way.)

My driver usually arrives around 0830 and we are in the chopper by 0845. Arrive at the office just after 0900.

trashy.
I take my V-22 Osprey as an everyday commuter.

Anywhere from 7-4 to 9-6. I pretty much can set my own hours. Commute is about 7-10 minutes.
I can work from home, but need to have a reason. Boss would actually let me work from home full time if it wasn't for certain other employees in the area who have to be here to interact with the staff raising holy hell at the unfairness of it. About half the entire department here can work from home...it's the other half that can't that keeps it from happening.

Office hours are 9-4, I typically work 7-4 Mon-Fri, I get more done in the 2 hours before we are open than the rest of the day though. 9-4 I spend answering questions for people who should already know the answer.

10-15 min commute. I normally get in the office between 8-830, leave around 430-5. Friday’s I leave at noon but I do a lot of remotely.

Such bullshite. I've been with my boss since day 1 of her creating the company. One of her biggest things was how absurd the need for 8-5 "arse in chair" was. We all work remotely and we all live in different states - my boss included.
You see a lot of remote work and lax hours in tech startups and in more urban areas. But these good ole boy companies... not a chance. My first job out of college, I watched all of House of Cards and a few other shows at my desk. I was hired to work under the president of the company, who was gone like 80% of the time. So I just sat there being paid for nothing, because they had it ingrained in their heads that he "MUST" have an assistant.
If I was as much as 1 minute late, my phone was ringing. They time my 30 minute lunch break like crazy people. It was insane. Had to rush back from lunch to go sit at my desk and watch Netflix.

It's not necessarily an issue with the firm I work for. Many of our attorneys and even paralegals don't even have an office. They work from home full time.
The issue is even though I'm in cybersecurity, I still fall under IT. And the lower level techs and admins have to be here onsite to fix issues in the offices. They're the ones that go crying to their managers (or even the CIO) if someone in the department is seen as getting to work from home frequently. It's childish as hell, and the CIO doesn't want to deal with cries of favoritism.

9-10ish to 4-5ish with a 30 minute commute on the Subway.
My arrival usually depends on how long it takes my dogs to shite on their morning walk.
