Seems to follow the current trend of the last few years of over hyping everything just so it can get eyeballs on the tv and clicks on internet sites. I get it that some storms should be taken seriously but IMO this isn’t one of them unless you live on the coast.

Put it this way, parents are fricking crazy.
I was at a school that the power went out in and it was out most of the day. The parents wanted answers as to why they didn't call parents to pick up kids, how cruel it was to not have AC on, etc. The parent went to the school board meeting and all.
Funny thing is the minority who this upset were the loudest and the school system caves for them.

When I was little they made us go to school rain, shine, sleet, or snow. We had a hurricane hit near our school all my mom said is don’t get hurt on your way to school. I guess things were different back then.

I honestly believe the teachers should have to use a vacation day, just like I do, every time school is canceled.

I expect you’ll see several districts on the southeast side of the state closed Wednesday. They can’t take the chance. In my opinion you can’t be faulted when being too cautious when it comes to the safety of the students. The superintendents are in a no win situation when it comes to this decision. You’ll always have people complaining on one side or the other.

Oh man. I’m not sure when the weather will get real bad but if they are cancelling tomorrow already, i would bet the kids will be off Wednesday and Thursday also after it hits because of power outages
