I am glad they were brave enough to make the tough call and cancel school on this rough weather day. I also heard the courthouse and parish offices are closing soon.
We need a new policy though. When they cancel, teachers, administrators and parish officials involved in the decision should attend a mandatory full day emergency prep session the following weekend. That way, they can prep for next time, and we still get the value we paid them for the day they took off. Win-win.

I didn't take off. I would have preferred to have had a half day of school given what we knew at the time. Wednesday being cancelled I don't get. Tidal surge in the eastern end of the parish is pretty much all that I can think of, but that seems to be a stretch for me. These decisions are out of my pay grade so who knows.
