Y’all must have shitty jobs if the safety manager irritates you. Put your gaddamn PPE back on and get the cords out of the water...
To be fair some of the things are nitpicky as frick but... it's their job or secondary participation thing like IT guy on a team. Mr IT guy on the safety observation team get's a positive mark on his annual review for participating in it. Don't hate on that dude trying to get his bonuses and shite.
I've dinged guys lowering boards from scaffolding with two guys standing directly under it. They're supposed to wait til it's eye level before guiding it to ground. Silly shite but still.
I've dinged a tank welding job b/c the chick on hole watch was not in direct communication(radio) with the fire watch chick(a lazy frick who sits by a fire extinguisher and hose and in contact with fire brigade).
They were both playing on their phones while dude was welding.
Chicks in plants are the worst.

I changed my major from chemical engineering because I didn’t want to die in a plant. My other goal was to not die or lose fingers or toes, or nose, by frostbite...I’m good on both accounts.

I am a safety manager and tend to stay pretty even keeled. My main concern is if the employees leave work with everything they came with minus whatever was in their lunch box. Typically when I catch someone violating a rule, I tend to pull them to the side and have a conversation to tighten things up, but let me catch someone violating confined space, LOTO and fall protection, then I will lose my shite because it is my arse on the line with my CEO and my arse getting chewed out sitting in a meeting with plant managers. Employees sometimes do not realized that some of the dumb shite they do and get injured affects the bottom line, and these will be same ones bitching that they didn't get a raise or bonus. They do not understand that the $1000 injury for some stitches because they did not wear gloves costs the company $25,000 to make up for the $1000 lost because we are self insured for Worker's Comp up to a certain limit.

Seems like all these guys do is walk around watch people work then tell them what they did wrong based off what their "book" says
Maybe it seems that way to you because you are ignorant.

I don't hate you, Mr Safety Man. As an IT guy in manufacturing for 19 yrs, I've been on the Emergency Response Teams and Safety Observation teams.
The attitude that they're being watched and reprimanded by 'idiots' will never fully disappear no matter how much we promise them it's anonymous, for their own good and improvement, etc.
Thanks Mike! I have been on jobsites where I was hated before I said a word. I am actually pretty laid back, and my role is slightly easier. My site (while large) is R&D so I spend most of my time dealing with MoC. I have a ruthless middle management team that handles the floor. They know that I will bust their arse, not the technician.

Our safety manager ain’t nothing but a suck arse. Think he’s all high and mighty just because he went to college to get some schooling. Welcome to the real world, and stay out of my way.

I've done it on other jobs. And I even said that. Not this one. You get busted on a Rule G and its 10 years probation
