Honestly shite you do between 18-21 won't haunt you too much unless it is criminal.
That said, racism (or something that could be labeled as such) may be the single biggest exception in our society at present.

SAE should install an all black chapter at OU.

Ok, to back up my assertions that this won't prevent him from getting a job I will use a personal example.
I was arrested for some bogus trumped up charges my senior year of high school when I was 18. I was the only 18 year old at a house party at Spring Break. There some serious charges in there, including "Burglary" because of some loophole about not being allowed somewhere and committing a crime in that place (rented house by someone else and underage drinking)
Charges were completely dropped and my record expunged.
These extortion websites like Smoking Gun and Mughots.net don't care if charges are dropped/expunged. If you googled my name, several shots of my high school mug shot came up including a list of my charges. The websites demand hundreds of dollars to take them down.
I didn't have the money as a poor college kid, but the mugshots only came up when you googled my first name and last name. I have always gone by my middle name and that is what is on my resume.
I have gotten every job I've ever interviewed for. If they googled my middle name nothing came up.
FWIW, I have now paid those websites to take them down and used a letter from my attorney to get the last one down last year.

No one will remember these kids next week, I don't see this affecting their lives outside of university disciplinary action.

It depends what type of job you want.

Burglary, vandalism, criminal mischief, and contributing to delinquency of minors.
And that wasn't the point. Point was, it didn't come up in google so they had no idea. Kid just has to use his middle name.

That's too broad. No, nobody will remember the incident. But a competitive grad school will find out. So would the bar if you get into law school. So might some employers.
We had an incident when I was in law school where a kid was running for something, and his undergraduate past came to life and basically impacted the rest of his time in school and his job prospects.
There are a lot of things you can get away with. White people, however, will feast on their own if they can be labeled as racists. It's better to have a reputation as a sexist, cheater, fraud, pervert, etc. than be a racist, and it's not close.

Damn.. That's too bad.. I hope that chapter is able to get back on campus in due time. Too bad someone had to be an idiot and record it.

All are preferrable to saying the n word in 2015 America. Not joking in the least.

Probably, but my point still stands.
Saying this won't affect him in the future is moronic.
Saying he has a 0% chance of getting a job in 3 years is equally moronic.
Why do people have to use hyperbole and extremes all the time? Its annoying to me. I'll step off my soap box now though
