This was the old OP. Pretty close there
quote:

I have Graves disease (thyroid) which affects your vision and I have some optic nerve damage. When color vision is affected, red is usually the first to start to go. I noticed in the last few weeks that LSU purple has turned to LSU blue, which sucks. It has probably been a gradual change, but the brain knows it is purple and apparently processes it as purple(at least for a while mine did).

Thanks, I feel better now. Like copy and paste exact.

Damn, I have more brain damage than I thought.

It is kind of scary that I have zero memory of that other thread. Sorry for the rerun.

Anyone who attended the school knows that the purple they use like on official stuff looks blue. This isn't a perfect example, but as close as I could find with a quick search

I've had Graves disease (fancy name for hyperthyroidism, btw) for 13 years now.....and this has never been an issue. Did yours go untreated for a prolonged period of time or what?

Baw, you've got to wait at least a year to recycle a thread.

Our colors use to be Blue and white before it changed to purple and gold. If you don't know the whole story, I think it was in the late 1800s. The football team went down to New Orleans to play Tulane and for some reason the players and fans wanted to be festive so they bought mardi gras themed clothing, accessories, etc and that lead to LSU changing it's colors, but before then we were blue.. And white.

As I aged, I have lost the ability to see most blues. With the exception of baby blue, they almost always appear purple.

I was about to say it's nice to see Ole Miss colors and then.

(red is the color most affected by Graves disease damage and the red has been removed from the purple turning it blue).

Good to know. I was wondering what OP was going on about and trying to decide if I needed my thyroid checked.
