yeah this reminds me of the threads recently about the ODs around Ohio when people kept posting like "Darwin award winner" and shite and ignoring the real issues at play with drug abuse. it's very similar to the attitudes towards suicide on here. people just literally do not know what either scenario is like often and are spewing negativity out of ignorance

It's a real epidemic in the US. As real as any one out there.

Just trying to shed some light on why he may have committed suicide. These things need to be brought to light or mental health issues will always be taboo.
WTF ever, Dr. Phil. If his family wants to go that route, then that is on them. Not some random on a website...

Especially the parenthetical interpretative assessment of THF's user name. Dickish, in my opinion.

Life isn't all rainbows and sunshine.

You got a problem with me adding facts to all of the speculation? I'm not sharing any inside information. Its pretty easily obtained public info

There's a quote, not sure who said it.

"Be kind to everyone you meet, you never know what battles people are fighting."

Way to bend my post to fit your narrative.

I put "dunno" emoji next to that part.

The facts are the arrest report and the link.

None of what I'm about to say is about THF. I didn't know him personally.

I've battled my demons and am still fighting every day, but when you are alone and you have no earthly idea why you hurt the ones you love; why you have become a shell of your former self, and why you have no passion for life anymore...it's easy to imagine the world as a better place without you.

My friend stopped returning my calls after I got clean. I wish I had tried harder to reach him.

Sorry, I don't want to derail a thread in memory of a good poster, but I don't think I've cried this hard since last June.

The average person just can't comprehend what drives people to commit such an act. Time will help a little for his family and friends, but it won't ever go away. It is just so heartbreaking to think a loved one could just be gone in that manner.

Son of a bitch....yep.

I remember telling the old man we could lay the pilons but we had to be back for the game. He was sort of mad at me because I was favoring LSU baseball over the camp, but back in those days LSU wasn't on TV much.

Boy did they turn their opinion around when that ball flew over the fence, lol

And yeah, I was dating the daughter.

Oh, oh, OK then. Thanks. "I called the recently deceased a drunk based on his user name on a message board, but's it's OK because I used an emoji to express that I was only speculating".

I'm good 91. Thanks for the words. I just miss my friend.

I'm not clinically depressed.
