The National Park Service warned in a report last July that construction of the wall on Organ Pipe could destroy artifacts belonging to the Tohono O’odham, as well as remnants of 19th century settlements in the area.

destruction of saguaros, the use of water from the aquifer under Organ Pipe, and the impact the wall could have on migrating animals.

I feel like this board is much better to post this than the echo chamber Poli-Board. I understand the politics behind the wall, and whether I agree with them or not is not the point, but I don’t like destroying important places for it.

If you’ve been to Organ Pipes, and stood on Monument Hill, doesn’t this bother you just a wee bit? Protecting public land should be a bipartisan issue, but it has been politicized greatly the last few years, with outdoorsmen, recreationists, environmentalists, et al fighting for protection.

Spread rumors that graboids roam the area.

Is that the only contribution you have? At least you’re getting a response from me.

And by the way, organ pipes is federally protected. Where I live has nothing to do with what’s going on at the southern border.

If people respected borders just written on a map wall would not be needed. They do not, and therefore it's needed.
If some in country didn't promote illegal immigration and push services and fund caravans it might also not be needed. They do, and therefore it is needed.

It doesn't bother me at all due to cause of need.

It bothers me a lot.

The US is going to spend money to fix a problem caused by spending money. Makes sense. Let's do irreparable damage to the environment instead of reforming welfare/entitlement spending. I guess a wall makes sense because folks get to say we are sticking it to the libtards

And we will suffer spending billions in taxes to maintain it every year. Great!

That wall is going to frick up a lot of things. The bad part about it is that it won’t work like people dream it will.

The illegal stuff including people will go over, under, around and through the wall .

Smuggling has been going on forever and will continue.

That wall is going to be a colossal waste of money.

Not to mention money spent in the courts.

There are still eminent domain cases being litigated from the Bush administration when border wall expansion was approved.

Bothers me

What are your thoughts on an alternative?

Thin electric fences that do not mess up the scenery?
