A hacking group with ties to the Russian government is suspected of carrying out a cyberattack in January that caused a tank at a Texas water facility to overflow, experts from US cybersecurity firm Mandiant said Wednesday. The hack in the small town of Muleshoe, in north Texas, coincided with at least two other towns in north Texas taking precautionary defensive measures after detecting suspicious cyber activity on their networks, town officials told CNN. The FBI has been investigating the hacking activity, one of the officials said.

1) It was more likely China.
2) These attempts happen constantly. It’s not really news.
3) We do it too and are much more successful.

A whole bunch of high level US government folks were tied into the wuhan lab but there was absolutely nooooooooo way any of them had anything to do with Covid

So, just like the word racist, of all else fails, blame China or Russia. It could not have possibly been our own government behind it

Ransomware hacks are far beyond a cottage industry in Russia. It is a major service industry that operates more or less in the open and aren't prosecuted as long as they don't hack businesses on Russian soil. The community provides a one-stop shop for all the tools and support needed to perform ransomware attacks. They function essentially as an adjunct to the GRU's 85th Main Special Service Center causing mayhem without costing Russia a penny while at the same time onboarding foreign wealth into their economy.

The number of Russia sympathizers and Putin male groupies around here is just bizarre.

Anyone who thinks that Russia isn't constantly fricking with the United States and working to destabilize the United States is closer to clinically retarded than average intelligence.

Refer to the Wikileaks drop about how the CIA can hack a system and have it lead back to any source they choose.

Maybe so. I was simply pointing out that Wikileaks provided proof that the CIA does this too.

I’ve been to Muleshoe Tx. I am amazed that they have a water system with a computer and internet access. But they do have electricity to power their lone stop light.

Some of them are bots but a lot of them have been here since before the Russia thing ever blew up. Some are playing edgelord and others really have fallen for the Russian propaganda campaign.
