I have running background but even in my competitive running days 40+ miles was a heavy week.

In my competitive days 70/ week was pretty standard with mile repeats on Tue, 800 repeats on Thur, Race Saturday, Long run sunday (15-18 miles). As season progressed and we got near SEC's, mileage would drop to 40 or so but we would scorch the intervals on Tue and Thur.

I gained a lot of weight in law school.

i was 155-160 when i entered and 220 by my fourth year of practice. quit the firm and got head out of arse and dropped back down to normal weight within a few years. it's crept back up over the past two.

175-180 (depending on jacked/baw status) is perfect for me and cuts my times significantly. have a few lbs to get back to that now.

eta: just looking to finish the Missoula Half without injury. Weather trend looking promising. nice crisp air, and it's all in the valley. I'll post time--trust me; won't be a brag, subtle or not.
