Runner finds spike weapons hidden on popular nature trail

He found wine corks with nails protruding from them, police said in a statement posted to Facebook. They resembled caltrops, illegal weapons that have at least two sharp points sticking out of a base.

We got in trouble with the cops as kids when we put green military surplus trip wires all over the woods down the street. We put one in an entrance next to a Canal. That one worked very well. 
Still not sure how we did not get sued for his hospital bills when we confessed to it.
