What are you talking about. The school scores came out this month.

Lee has an A rating. Not as a high A like BRHigh, but still an A.

So it's for the liberal athiests, who will take their 26.1 ACT scores and get a degree in Women's Art Studies and work at Starbucks?

I'm sure there are plenty of normal kids there too. That's kind of the stereotype though.

This is off topic a bit, but in Donaldsonville you have Ascension Catholic, but on the other side of the River (Gonzales maybe?) there is now an Ascension Christian right? I know its a smaller school, but is this sort of the Parkview Baptist of Ascension parish?

Ascension Christian has been there for almost 10 years.

They occupied the property of a previous small private school.

I believe Ascension Christian was founded/supported by the Household Of Faith church (could be wrong)

You think Derek Stingley is artsy?

He has some pretty good ballet moves.

And it was Trafton when Todd Kinchen went there.

Really? I was hoping Lee was going to work out. It would be nice to have a good all around public high school in BR. BRMHS has great academics, but it is full of free to be me kids and lacks in sports.

Not really, but keep telling yourself this. They have some, but I would not call most kids who attend SMHS "lower middle class."

Unless it has changed recently, it's true.

My wife graduated from SJA, too, and has absolutely NOTHING to do with her fellow alumnae.

There’s also Cristo Rey (the school that took over RHS old campus). *coughmoneygrabforthedioceasecough* if recognize them at all.

CSOBR got nothing but one year of rent from them.

After the Flood of 2016, CSOBR "donated" all of the RHS property to Cristo Rey

No it isn't. Do you live in the area? Do you know any kids who went to school there? Do you have any kids went to school there?

Household of Faith Church has Faith Academy which was a small k-8 private school. I believe Ascension Christian is them expanding into a private hs, but I could be wrong. I know Ascension Christian is not run by Catholics.

You forget- this is the OT where MDs and CEOs are “lower middle class”.

Correct. If they gave tuition assistance they'd be great athletically.

If Ascension Catholic moved to the East Bank, they'd have an enrollment explosion.

Would they? The East bank has great public schools. I always attributed Ascension Catholic’s existence to the fact that Donaldsonville schools are pretty bad.

I think those East Bank AP’ers who insist on sending their kids to Catholic High do so more to keep up with the Joneses than because of convenience. Ascension Catholic wouldn’t have their kids rubbing elbows with the folks their desperate to impress.

Do you know if they were properly insured when the flood hit? The article mentioned "flood debt" which tell me that perhaps they were not.

More and more kids are going to go back into the public school system as those schools improve and new charter options open up.

Down in St. Bernard, Lynn Oaks is moving and reforming into a Christian school (but not affiliated with any church or religious group) and wanting to add back a high school (the high school at Lynn Oaks closed long ago). They are looking for a 400 person school grades Pre-K to 10th and then adding 11th and 12th over next two years. There's a weird deal with FEMA money that they kept and will use that to build a modular campus, but I'm really interested in seeing if the finances will work.
