I have a group of friends that are suppose to be going to Austin on Friday. Is there any route available to them or is it totally impossible?

Buy an airline ticket from BTR to Austin?

Or whatever route you are going.

I drove from The Woodlands to BR yesterday. Drove to Alexandria and then down I-49 to 190. At this point, might just have to drive to Dallas and then back down to Austin.

You'll have to take I-55 North from Baton Rouge to Chicago, then head southwest down I-44 to Oklahoma City, then south down I-35 through Dallas-Fort Worth to Austin. It's the only passable route at the moment.

Just came back from Austin on Sunday. The route we took was College Station to Livingston to Deridder down to Lake Charles. The scenic AF route. College Station area was already looking dicey on Sunday so take that with a grain of salt.
