Right in principle.

Wrong in 2016 America.

You don't have a right to a job. Whether you like or not, the flag carries a lot of history with it. Flying it in a town as black as Roswell,GA is going to be a bad look.

One less dumbass cashing gov't check as far as I am concerned

Yep, and if the guy "doesn't get that", he has proven that he lacks the judgement to handle that particular j-o-b.

Shelves need stocking. Get to it.

This is a slippery slope. He expressed himself but violated no law. The boss who hired him is at fault for this guy because he allowed that to join the force. Once aboard they violated his civil rights

As a general rule I despise cops, but if you are supportive of a city employee being fired solely for flying a Confederate flag on their private property you are a just as much of a goosestepping fascist simpleton as the rabid cop apologists.

Not sure why anyone would fly a flag of treason belonging to traitors and rebels of the United States.

Treason is a capital crime. Not sure why people are proud of this shameful heritage

ETA: The department may have policies against such displays but if not, free speech should have protected him

All the down votes yet I'm almost positive most of you would take no issue with someone being fired for displaying black power propaganda. I'm also positive most of the down-voters support the right to hire/fire employees, but alas, people only believe in what fits their agenda at any given time.

People have the right to free speech, they don't have a right to not face the social backlash that could follow said speech. I swear, people get so confused on what free speech is. It's not a pass to say whatever you want without consequences.

Try reading my post again. I support the cop displaying his flag. The chief who fired him should not have allowed him on the force. It's s slippery slope to support his firing

I am sure there is more to it. They probably told him to take it down and didn't or they were looking for a reason to fire a shitty officer
