Maybe it does but Roomba was recommended to me and it does a great job so far. As long as we both have clean floors and are happy I could care less who "wins" the spec test.

We don't have the programmable roomba, so you have to remember to set it off. We have a lab/brittany spaniel mix that sheds like a mofo. It doesn't get everything, but it puts a major dent in the amount of hair we have floating around. We just get a little lazy and forget to set it off a lot before heading out for work. It's too loud when it's in a room near you.

The only issue I have is that we have some furniture that is at the exact wrong height. It can wedge itself underneath, but doesn't have enough strength to get out. Kind of damages the furniture, but not that bad.

Roomba or Scooba, which would you pick?

One more thought on that. If I didn't have big dogs that track mud into the house I wouldn't be considering a Scooba. During the summer it isn't a problem but in the winter with snow and rain it's tough to keep paws clean enough before entering the house to keep the mud off of the flooring. Scooba should help greatly with that which is why I'm considering it.

Same. I have no idea why I didn't look into this years ago. I feel like an idiot now.

My mother in law had one at an old house she used to live in, and she said it was great. Most of the house outside of the bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, and one long hallway were carpet. Those areas were all tile. I think there were 2 or 3 bedrooms upstairs, but the Master was something obscene like 25x40. Had a little den/seating area to one side. And a king sized bed that looked like a full in the room. The main den to the house was directly below this and the exact same size. She'd run it upstairs a couple times a week, and downstairs a couple times a week then downstairs a couple times a week. All new carpet had been installed, so after the first few times vacuuming that huge area, she wanted the Roomba.

When the former Force Recon and current master electrician that I share an office with got one for Christmas and told me I had to have one I listened. He raved about it. He was right.

That second video you posted looks like there's really no comparison. It looks like the Roomba blows stuff all over the place. I like the very precise path that the Neato takes.

Walmart has the Neato XV-21 for dog and allergy listed at $299 online only. Regularly $429. I wonder if it's any good.

Same. The spinning brush on the side does move stuff but it's for digging stuff out of corners.

That video was hilarious.

The neato is like "oh, here's some dirt. But there are these walls. Ok no problem, I'll just take my time and go around them and get that dirt cleaned right up."

The roomba is like "GET THE frick OUT OF MY WAY. I NEED TO CLEAN THE frick OUT OF THIS WHOLE AREA RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!WALLS? frick YOU WALLS!"
