I have a sub, but find myself wearing my Marathon JSAR auto most of the time. I do like Omegas though.....I think they have better brackets than Rolex TBH.

4 slightly more off the beaten path divers than the Sub/Seamster argument. Sizes from 41mm to 45mm. Prices the bracket the Seamaster and Sub.

The bezel on my marathon mini-gsar has almost none of the white numbering left, and replacement bezels aren't offered.
It looks really shitty and it really fricks me when I'm actually using the bezel (to cook rice).

That used to be the case, for many years the bracelet was the weak point of a Rolex, today they have jump everyone else and have the best sports bracelets.
I will say AP and Patek make more comfortable bracelets (unless the AP pulls your hair) but they lack in adjustability compared to the Rolex Oyster Glidelock.

Paint...
On the bright side, you can replace the whole watch for what a Rolex or Omega ceramic bezel would cost.

If I went after this thing with paint there's no doubt I would shortly be replacing the whole thing.
I need to find someone to send it to

I have a few watches - have the rolex sub date black and gold. frick no I dont wear it at work. I dont want coworkers or clients knowing I have one. But they are a thing of beauty. That black sub is 1000 times better than the seamaster. Get a speedmaster if you want an omega. The band the face the dial all better on a sub if youre standing it up against a seamaster. Way classier and pretty

Never investigated, do you think the newer bracelets would fit my 16610 (circa 1996)? And, what type of cost?

I just can't do Panerai. I've tried, I just can't. Something about the crown and crown protector just is offputting for me. We all have our "thing" though.

Have you tried the Radiomir? They are definitely too big for my wrists, and preference.

I've tried on 3 over the years. My small wrists just can't accomdate the heft of Panerai. And something about them just isn't aesthetically pleasing to me. It's just a matter of taste and preference.

The crown protector on the Luminor cases bugs (visually or physically) a lot of people. A good Panerai for the average non-Paneristi is the 512. It is 42mm, only 11mm thick, the 1940 Radiomir case has more standard lugs, has a sandwich dial and the in-house P.999 hand cranker.
Here beside a 44mm Luminor case for reference

I'm not reading through 10 pages of this shite. Have we gone through the exercise of ensuring that picture is, indeed, a real Rolex?
Posted on 4/30/18 at 2:31 pm to Obtuse1
I don't like the case either.
It just doesn't do it for me in any way. And I've loved much uglier watches. I can't explain it.

Yes, the new bracelet will fit the 16610. If you can find a bracelet/clasp for sale the going price is $2k give or take. I honestly wouldn't do it for the cost.

Agreed. I'm sure the heft is nice, but id put that $$$ towards another timepiece at that point.

I completely get it, outside of maybe the Nautilus (and oddballs like the Ploprof) Panerai has probably the most polarizing esthetic of the major Swiss houses. While some people see just 2 watches a rabid Paneristi like me sees every little difference as a totally new watch.
My problem is I rarely see a watch I don't like or at least don't think is novel and would be cool in just the right situation.
