NOPD resources once again being wasted with barricade duty while people are slaughtered in other parts of the city. F-Troop or Mitch's Troop on guard.

Robert Edward Lee will live on forever in the hearts of all patriotic southerners who love virtue and the rule of law.

i mean i agree with people saying they are boycotting Nola. But do you really think you will feel the same in 6m or even a year?

We wont even be talking about this in a year. It will be forgotten IMO

Today is my birthday so I'm trying to remain calm, but I really hate this fricking guy. Mitch needs to be put in the fricking ground quicker than he brought down these statues.

Big difference between colonization and sending them down to banana plantations already owned. They explain that pretty well.

I still don't care either way but making Lincoln out to be a villain doesn't help your cause.

Wtf? I'm not trying to get plastered all over national TV, the internet, and possibly get arrested over this. That's exactly how these people operate. I can just quit giving my money to the city

General Lee coming down TONIGHT

Dear Mitch Landrieu,

Do you think you could stop fricking women who aren't your wife and squandering tax money while shitting on your family name and ignoring your electorate long enough to address even one issue that actually matters?

Crime? Education? Poverty? Streets? Infrastructure? Professional careers? Attracting big businesses? Keeping college grads in state?

Unaddressed. Not even attempted to be addressed.

Statues literally no one cared about?

Unilaterally brought down in less than a week using the biggest, fastest, and most efficient coordination of public funds, private contractors, and public utilities maybe ever seen in this city.

And if you were going to rip the statues down, could you have put a little foresight or given the least amount of shite of what the sites would look like when you ripped the statues down?

Because now city park looks like vandalized Iraq. You couldn't have sanded down the pedestal and written city park? Or painted the bricks white.

Do you have any plan for that? Or is your plan to take a shite on this city before you leave?

Can you let us know if you decide to destroy any more possible private property without regard for legal process to further your own goals?

Signed,
Tax paying people of New Orleans

You are taking what I am saying to an extreme. Just saying that if people were as upset about it as they act on here there would have been more resistance by the community.

Please. These are the same people wanting to tear down freaking Joan of Arc for being French. You can't act like you have some sort of high horse to sit on.

It would be funny if one of the guys doing the removal gets injured and they sue the city.

Other than being required to be in New Orleans for something, I'll stick to my guns because I actually follow through with what I say

Oh yeah, the city is also losing out on the opportunity to collect the literally thousands of dollars worth of camera tickets I owe. That's money that could've been used to put cones over one pothole for a year

I don't live in New Orleans. But as a Louisiana resident, let me say how exciting it is to know that we've got a city on the verge of becoming a world class destination both in terms of population, industry and innovation as well as culture. Look out Houston and Atlanta. We've figured out the problems and we're coming.

Marvelous Mitch! The savior you never knew you needed.

And you'd think there would have been more support as well.

There is little support, only an ugly arse grandma grabbing her crotch as she drives by.

Youd think Mitch could have just taken credit for all the French quarter work and been responsible for growing tourism in a dying city.

Nope, he went full retard.

Does the City need a building/demolition permit to perform this work? I don't know if a private contractor is being used or if they're all firemen, but a contractor would certainly need to pull a permit even if they're working for the City.

Yeah sure the city has a permit. It just hasn't been written yet.
