Roach in the hotel room: Where does this rank on the OT Trashy scale?

So I unfortunately have to stay in Beaumont, TX this weekend for my grandmother’s funeral and I had to leave early because of the hurricane. So I’m staying in what’s ranked as the top hotel here in Beaumont and I’m sitting in a chair and a god damn huge arse black cockroach crawls out from under the bed. He got away somehow and I asked to move rooms and was given a coupon for free breakfast. First time I’ve ever had a roach encounter in a hotel, and one that is considered “nice” at that. Has anyone had a roach experience in a hotel that wasn’t crappy before or is this just on the hotel for not keeping it sanitary?

You staying at the Elegante baw?

Yes actually. I’ve stayed here before and I think it’s nice for Beaumont standards but a roach in the room is less than elegante to say the least.

How does the nicest hotel not have complimentary breakfast?

I'm going to beat el gaucho to the punch and make a vague comment about how it's a shame that you have to spend the night at all in Texas.

The OT isn’t obsessed with roaches in hotels, yet, so it would be way down on the list.

You should leave and go to the nearest store that’s still open, buy a few cans of raid and just spray and pray. Other than that, can’t help you baw, it’s summer in the south. I do fricking hate roaches though, I’d be paranoid that it got away.

I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott across the way a few years ago. Was wondering how nice the Elegante was

Thank you for sharing in the fervor in hatred of cockroaches that I have as well. Also, the Elegante is way nicer than the courtyard across the way just the roach is a huge issue for me.

The roach was there to feast on bed bug carcases and discarded toenails from prior guests.

Every time I drive through Beaumont I always wondered who ever stays at the Elegante? I guess I found my answer.

On the trashy scale is live roaches above or below piss stains on the mattress or finding a used condom?

That ain't that bad. In a New Orleans hotel, that roach would have been so comfortable that he would have grabbed the remote and changed the channel on the tv.

Big black roach, not a big deal. Take freebie and move rooms.
Small brown roach...... Switch hotels.
