It was an article, not just some dude on twitter, per se.
Daily mail so take it for what it’s worth

Damn man.
I saw him at Jazz Fest probably around 2006 or 2007?
Always loved some Jimmy Buffet.

Brother back in those days we used to put lemon juice in our hair and baby oil with iodine in it to get that summer tan early.
We are all paying for it now
We are all paying for it now

Poor baby, upset that Jimmy was a phony? Any other multimillionaires you knight for?

No musician will ever make more money with less talent in the history of music. He sounded like a mediocre house/cover band that you could find at any small town bar. Im just shocked he could commercialize so successfully a segment of 55-80 year old hippy redneck white trash. The type of people that don’t like rock music, don’t like country music, but somehow have an ear for generic easy listening garbage. And his best song, Pirate looks at 40, was covered 5000x better by Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson.
A lot of people disagree with your stupid, uninformed opinion.
What have you accomplished in your life?

I hope you have a good day man, regardless of if you liked JB or not…why would you come heckle those that do and sad?
Put your phone or computer down and go do something with your family that’s fun.

Nothing against him, just another pop singer who would have been successful as a jingle writer.

We bought tickets for a one off show he was supposed to play in Charleston in June and two days later they postponed it because he had to go to the hospital. They then canceled it about two weeks ago. Would’ve loved to see his last show.

I'm with you. People loved the feeling of whatever it was they were doing while listening to a Buffett song, which was usually drinking and relaxing.
To buttress McGruff's argument, if blackout drunk fraternity kids can seamlessly sing your music, you're not that special.

And I have been drunk now for over two weeks
I passed out and I rallied and I sprung a few leaks

Yep. Just a matter of time. Our kids don’t get it but maybe Jimmy’s death will mean something.

No, Jolly Roger. And I've not needed to flee to Alaska searching for a clean start that's yet to come.

Your drinking is to cover for your gayness, aint it Liberace?
Thats something you and I have in common.

Ironic that you would post lyrics from my all time favorite JB song.
If you have an issue with that stanza, you have zero business talking about popular music. The story inside the song is timeless.
John Prine and most of the rest rhymed most of their lyrics as well lyrics as well.

You must not be familiar with Rogers backstory .. he used to proudly share his wife with other junkies. That’s his idea of family fun. It’s ok though because he’s in recovery now.

Hey man, tell me this story. I need to learn it too. This might be good.
Imagine being so butthurt over a jingle writer that you make up lies about someone else.
