Her 30 Greatest Hits album is seriously one of the best of all time. Just full of hit after hit and they are just as good today as they were back then. Her voice may never be matched. Technically so strong but had a tone that no one will ever be able to match and she somehow infused every note with so much soul. You can't teach that.

God Damn she was something special.



ETA: Original blues brothers commentary they explained how she was a nightmare to record. Every single performance was unique. She couldn't lip sync.

Nothing was overrehearsed trash, she felt the song every single time she sang it.

The box set is fantastic. Lot of gospel which I don't particularly like, but the sheer talent was full on display in it.
