Clip is a perfectly acceptable term to use for magazine.

When 7 out of 10 people still use the term “hot water heater”, I’m going to keep saying clip. Because everyone grew up saying clip. Everyone knows what the frick you are talking about, and people just want to act like they are more gun than you are.

Team clip

I wish you had a link to what you are asking about because I have not a clue. Windham WW-15 300 Blackout AR Pistol with Brace and a 9” barrel is what I have under the seat of my vehicle. It’s fun to shoot and if needed to protect myself I’d hate to be on the business end of that thing. I’m in outside sales and travel a lot. It’s rough out there these days so I carry a gun with me that I can go to war with should I find myself in a bad situation. Also carry an Sig 365XL 9mm with an inside my waste band holster everywhere I go.

I have a CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 carbine. It’s fun and doesn’t cost a second mortgage at the range.

While not precise, clip was used for decades pretty much interchangeably with magazine. WWII and Korean war vets probably had a lot to do with the use of "clip" since they used clips.

Those who used the M1 Garand were taught to use the proper term “en bloc clip”.

Those who used the Thompson, Grease Gun, BAR, or M1 Carbine were taught the proper term “magazine”.

Only dorks use them interchangeably.

Rap music confused plenty of people with it

Yep, and the movies convinced a lot of people that shooting a pistol sideways is what you should do.

when did "clips" become wrong?

I used to have an AK with a 76-round clip and a silencer. All you had to do was rack the slide and most crooks would run. If one didn't, well, everyone knows the AK bullet just bounces around inside of you eating your organs like Pac Man.
