I know that a lot of you immediately said Zachary, LA. And you are correct.
USA today article

Zachary, Louisiana
Median household income: $75,472 (state: $45,652)
Households earning $200,000 or more: 6.7% (state: 3.7%)
Adults with at least a bachelor’s degree: 34.3% (state: 23.0%)
Median home value: $206,300 (state: $148,300)
Population: 16,154
Louisiana is one of the poorest states in the country. The typical household in the state earns $45,652 a year, nearly $10,000 less than the typical American household. Additionally, about one in every five state residents live below the poverty line, the third highest poverty rate of any state.
Despite the high statewide poverty rate and low median income, some parts of Louisiana are affluent. In Zachary, a small city just north of Baton Rouge, the median household income is $75,472 a year, about $20,000 more than the median income nationwide. Additionally, the town’s 8.8% poverty rate is well below the national poverty rate of 15.1%.

I would have guessed Bridge City.

The section 8 developments aren't included or do they fall outside of the zachary city limits?

It sure as shite doesn't seem like it when I'm driving through here on my commute and for lunch every day of the week

I was told those apartments across from Copper Mill were section 8...not true?

Damn I'm doing better than houses in Zachary

What section 8?
Government assisted rent if that's what you're asking.

There are no apartments across from Copper Mill.

a few hundred yards down and across the street by the baseball fields is what I was told was turning into section 8 by a few zachary residents

Each person in a two income household makes $37,500 a year? Congrats.

No, not true
was also told that there were some section 8 developments being built out there...some zachary residents aren't happy with some of the people moving in to town

If the city of st. George was incorporated it would be 87,000+ household.

Key Biscayne, Florida
•Median household income: $124,504 (state: $48,900)
•Households earning $200,000 or more: 31.5% (state: 4.4%)
•Adults with at least a bachelor’s degree: 70.6% (state: 27.9%)
•Median home value: $1,034,800 (state: $166,800)
•Population: 12,935
Buying a home in Key Biscayne is likely prohibitively expensive for anyone outside the highest income bracket. It is the only town in Florida where over half of all homes are worth over $1 million. Statewide, the median home value is just $166,800.
This isn't correct for Florida. Palm Beach and Golden Beach are also towns, same as Key Biscayne (none are incorporated). Both have a lot higher incomes and average home prices that are 10x that of Key Biscayne.
18 years ago, the median income was $136k. Probably $200k now.

I think about 3 miles away there is an apartment complex that rents its units for $1 per month per square foot. Not sure that's section 8.
We do have a few in the City who begrudgingly live here and like to get on FB and complain about that and an assortment of first world problems. But they still live here.

They can run for office or move. They probably just moved out here in the past 5 years and think they know everything.

Section 8 housing can turn a 1st world problem into a 3rd world problem really quick.

My BIL owns 4 duplexes a mile or 2 past copper mill and makes a killing off them but the area is a dump
I've always liked Zachary especially since they have a couple nice golf courses

I keep seeing this. Are there places in the City of Zachary where residents get government assistance for housing? Undoubtedly. Is there a new or fairly new apartment complex in the City or near the City (in the school district) that has brought in hundreds or thousands of residents who are receiving section 8 assistance? I don't believe so.
