If anyone has been to the Rex ball, share some information.
All the balls I have been to have the ball first and then a reception afterwards in another location near where the ball was held, with a breakfast fare. Band, booze, and all that jazz.
How does Rex do it? Do they give it a wrap after the ball is over? Does it end at midnight (the end of Mardi Gras) or does it go to the wee hours with a band?
Since this is the end of Mardi Gras, I always figured that this was more formal and less of a party.

I ain't watching this, but I appreciate the link. The fact that the local PBS affiliate covers the event speaks volumes as to its importance in the Nola. I also appreciate the tradition and pagentry. To an outsider, it is quite unique and different. Enjoy!
