lol wut?? Zulu doesn’t throw shite to white people When was the last time you’ve been to a Zulu or Rex parade?
As a matter of fact of every parade we watched starting Friday night from that spot, Zulu was easily the best parade.
Yes they are slow and yes they are a bit unorganized but to say they only throw to white people is just stupid. The kids around us (all white) took home at least a dozen coconuts plus bags and bags of throws

Zulu is a spectacle. That's what makes it so fun.
It's a big, long parade with a lot of marching groups that don't march in any other parades, so this is their time to shine. They strut, prance, whatever other terms you want to use, down the route, in absolutely no sense of hurry. They dance and interact with the parade watchers, who dance in the street with them.
This particular aspect, more so than float breakdowns or starting late, is what is leading to more and more delays, and more and more gaps.
You could perhaps improve this by barricading the whole route, but I can't tell you how many times this year while marching in city parades that I saw people standing in front of the barricades.
Then of course, a Rex float got stuck in a damn tree, which is even more absurd than the Zulu pace. They know exactly how tall those floats are, and they are SUPPOSED to be measuring heights / obstacles before the parades (remember when the entergy truck would roll first with a pole on it, that pole was the height of the tallest float) and they are also supposed to be checking this at night before/during Carnival.
Zulu already starts 30 min earlier, and Rex 30 min later, than in the past, and you have plenty of time for Rex to get to Jackson/St Charles.
By the way, I've often wondered how much of the route issue is where Zulu turns left on Canal, away from the traditional route. problems in that area can absolutely back up on to St Charles and delay Rex from following.

The trees are measured and marked with spray paint a week or 2 before the parades roll....
The problem was the trees werent trimmed...that falls on the City, not Entergy or the Krewes.

Uh no....Zulu starts at 800am and REX starts at 1030am

Then maybe it should roll behind Rex where they can take all of the time they want.

After Rex and before the truck parades. Obviously they don’t know how to lead properly.
