Review of 2022 Toyota Tundra

Review makes it sound line Toyota is largely content to provide a truck for people who already own a Toyota and not try for conquest sales. The rolling acceleration / highway punch it performance is questionable. Voice control of features in the truck could be a neat feature. The interior intrigues me. Where are the front tow hooks?
I am a GMC guy but will cross shop this new Tundra the next time I buy. I like the looks of it.

lol what? Make no mistake. It is always about growing the brand and increasing sales.

Autoblog’s opinion, not mine. They don’t seem to think this truck will move domestic buyers into the Toyota camp.

QQ - why did they not include recovery hooks on the off road version?
Supposedly they get in the way of the retractable air dam, but it seems like they could have designed that around the feature. The off road/overland types are not going to like that.

Tundra's don't break down, they don't need front tow hooks

I've driven Tundras for 20 years. I don't like this one at all. I'm on the fence for a while.

If you think the largest auto manufacturer in the world was worried about growing the brand and increasing sales with the previous Tundra being essentially unchanged for 15 years you are sadly mistaken.

Who let the grill and hood design team into the ketamine?

Same. I want to see it in person.

I have an irrational hatred for the fact that the Toyota emblem isn’t centered in the grille. The Chevy and GMC are the same way.

IMO the truck exterior reminds me of the Dodge Ram and I have always hated Toyota's interiors because they are plastic and look cheap.

With mud grips , don't get Stuck either .

I will wait and see a few in the wild. I think turbo engines in a full size is ridiculous. But Toyota will perfect that drivetrain and I am interested to see how it goes.

This truck had to fill up 4x’s to get to the photo shoot area.

Said it before, this truck is targeting the Dallas real estate professional that doesn't want to look effeminate in a car and can't afford to lease a range Rover.

Toyota never tries to make some market shattering vehicle. They always come out with something that's going to try to match what Ford/Chevy make but make it more reliable.

The interior looks the same as the older Toyota models except it has a big screen.

It is a visual trick to make the truck appear taller.
