That is just females in general, all female mammals have that dominant trait.

That's what I'm seeing. So little pit blood from what I see. The only slight sign is a bit of brindle coat that I can see in the pic, but that is not exclusive to pits.

That dog may have one PB cell in it. No problem is what I’d be thinking!

However we're worried one day the "pit switch" will go off in her head and she'll decide to eat someone.

lol we've got a huge rescue pit who admittedly wants to eat most animals, but not humans. But I still wouldn't have him if I had an infant

Also, that dog may have some in it, but it also has a few other things. Don’t sweat it at all. But keep in mind that all dogs are animals so should always be observed and treated as such

Hey not yet. It's on the list to call your guy but it's a pretty long list right now.

There’s no such thing as a “pit switch”

Odds are she’ll remain that sweet forever.

I’ll now wait for a bunch of dad bod Columbia fishing shirt sperry wearing PBR drinking frickboys to downvote.

It is true though that they have an extra tendon in their ankles that make them jump higher.

The pit switch seems to be an X linked characteristic. Something like 90+% of attacks are unneutered males. Yours is a female, so between that and the lack of many (or any) physical pit characteristics, I’d think she’ll be just fine.

I think my fiance's Dachshund mix has some kind of "switch" in him. He's great with girls but he's bitten a few of our guy friends when they go to pet him. He's also bitten a plumber and our friend's baby in the face.

You had me until the part about biting a baby in the face. Put that mongrel out of our misery please.

doesn't look like she has pit teeth or pit jaw,

so I vote "OK".

Even if she did get mad she won't be able to do pit harm.

It was so strange. I was watching them very close at first and they got along fine. Dog was licking him on the face and they were laughing and playing with no problem. Then all of a sudden we heard the dog growl and the kid start crying. I don't know if he pulled his tail to do something to cause it, or if the dog just snapped. Luckily it was our close friends and it wasn't too bad. It did draw a little blood though. We felt terrible, but they were very understanding.

It's obvious she has pit in her. Normal pit bulls are built like that and pretty scrawny, just slightly larger. Negative trait breeding lines are what put out the bulked, stout variations more recognized. You probably don't have anything to worry about if no aggression popping up even minimally

Best dog I've ever had was a rescue lab-pit mix. Sweet as can be. And this is coming from someone who thinks pure bred pits should be put down.

Yeah but all it takes is that one pit bull cell to flip that switch.
