Presser indicates that the guns were all purchased legally by either the shooter or the shooter's family. 6 weapons at the school and 7 at his apt.

CNN reported the shooter had mental issues and sought or had some treatment for it...no info on what or when. The mother indicated to some residents in the apt complex that her son had issues per reports, fact or not, I don't know. She allegedly went around with a petition to get treatment for roaches in the apt because they bothered her son. She also complained to people about the noise from children and dogs because it bothered her son per news reports.

He joined the service but was released in very short order. Reasons have not been given.

Looks like he was indeed mentally disturbed like most mass murderers have been.

This piece of shite's mom needs to go to fricking jail. She knew her kid was fricked up and said as soon as she heard about the shooting she had a bad feeling. Thanks mom. You raised a fricking degenerate sociopath and had every sign hitting you in the face. Eat a bullet.

Every fricking time, the friends or family knew in their gut that the shooter had it in them. Every fricking time.

"He was quiet."
"He was a loner."
"He spent most of his time on the internet."
"He rarely made eye contact with neighbors."

The list goes on. The fricking signs were there. His mom has been knowing he has issues for a while now. No way she didn't know he had 13 fricking guns.

He lived in a one bedroom apt with his mom. He brought 6 guns to the school and had 7 in the apt with more ammo. How could she not know that? Where would you hide them in a one br apt?

I doubt mom thought he'd go out and shoot a bunch of people, but if you know your child has mental issues, wouldn't you get rid of guns in the home or lock them the hell up? Not that he couldn't get more himself, but again, where do you hide them in a one br apt?

I'm curious as to what mental health help he got and how he got it. Did he go voluntarily? Did mom send him? Did the army or whatever it was he tried to join recommend it? So many unanswered questions.

What exactly was the mom supposed to do? Call the cops? They wouldn't have done anything either, he hadn't committed a crime.

I guess she could have taken and sold the guns. But that would have been illegal of her to do if they weren't hers.

Maybe if there was a law against mentally unstable people owning and purchasing weapons...

I would think most moms would have a hard time accepting this and that it could possibly result in a shooting spree like this

Well, he didn't just wake up one day at 26 and decide he was going to become a sociopath mass murderer.

No, but it sounded like she tried to get him help. What else should she have done?

No mother wants to admit her child has mental issues, but apparently, she admitted that he had issues to neighbors. She can't call the cops on him. She could try to have him committed if she thinks he has mental issues and he wouldn't go on his own, but that's difficult. They seem to let people go on a dime these days.

And, again, I doubt she ever thought he would hurt others or she certainly wouldn't want to believe he would. She should have been worried about him hurting himself, however, and the number of guns he owned himself and the number purchased by relatives in that little apt should have been a concern in my mind in addition to the fact that he wore the same thing every day...fatigues, I believe. Something isn't right about him wearing the same thing every day. That's a clue alone that he isn't right in the head.

1) I can say with 100% confidence that neither of my kids would ever do something like this.

2) If I had even the slightest feeling that my kid was being a recluse and stand offish and depressed I would make damn sure he wasn't storing 13 guns and body armor in my house. I would box them up immediately and turn it over to police myself.

To be fair, I've known tons of people that fit this profile. None of them are out shooting up schools.

And the police would return them to their rightful owner.

CNN said again that he sought mental health help, but I'm not sure they know if it was his decision or someone urging him to. They don't have any other info on it.

If I'm a mom, I don't care if he can legally own guns or if he bought them, I'm getting rid of them if I think my child has mental health issues. I'd be too concerned that my child might take his own life. I wouldn't be thinking he would take someone else's unless there were clues he might do that, but I'd do whatever it took to make sure my child didn't kill himself.

Everyone wants to point the finger and not blame the sociopath. Or ask the government to step in and fix the problem.

so if your confidence was only around 98% what then?

he wasn't a kid...he was an adult.

How do we know the mother isn't crazy?

Maybe she didn't snoop through his belongings

Yes. Especially when it's someone under 18.

Mental illness can skip generations. Of my siblings, we have a dickhead, a cop and your average joe (me). Does my Mom get credits for two of them and demerits for the one?

This is fricking stupid.
