The oil industry has the same problem as the banks. Too much dead weight at the top collecting checks that do not do anything but sit on their behinds and overcharge the public.

Did California ever solve its water issue?
No. And we've gotten nowhere near the amount of rain they were predicting for this season. They told us it would be a "Godzilla El Nino"...um, nope, still a drought. We have freeway signs which read, "severe drought in effect, please limit outside watering" and then HOAs are fining their residents for brown lawns.

Orange, CA last summer. Highest I've ever seen gas. They have to be making a killing because at any time, there are 4 billion cars on the road in California.

That's reason enough to never move to California. I would have to have a guaranteed and very high six, maybe seven figure salary to justify moving out there and even then, it would still take some long pauses.
It's a shame really. It's a beautiful state but the cost of living there is a goddamned disaster for middle class people.

FWIW - I am all for $4.00 gasoline, $100/barrel oil.
Should be $10 a gallon, imo.

$2.49 at the Chevron on Figueroa
I just filled up at the Costco in Long Beach for 1.95 a gallon on Wednesday.
Live in Brentwood and the gas station by me is at 3.69 a gallon.
ETA: Would also explain why this dude is filling up there

You can live here in Los Angeles making mid 50-60s, but youre not going to doing a lot of outing the way typical people do.
To live like a "normal person" back in NOLA (65K) you'd need to make ~ 100K but the quality of life here is much different.
That being said, i miss NOLA everyday (food/people wise)

I only see one truck filling up the tanks but they have 4 grades of fuel
There is typically 5 to 6 tanks on a fuel truck. And gas stations typically dont go through supreme as fast as they would regular. They might get a delivery on Mon of just regular and a delivery on Thurs of all three grades. Just depends.
